Survey that talks about changes in study abroad plans of students during COVID-19
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the entire world drastically; while it has left many businesses in loss, it has created a situation of chaos and confusion, especially for the students who had plans to study abroad this year. In order to give them a clear picture, so that they can decide what they want to do and how they want to proceed further, we have brought forth the results of a recent survey conducted on few thousand students. As one of the top-notch overseas study consultants, we asked a certain questions from students, to know what they are choosing to do. These are the results:
- Did your study abroad plans get affected by COVID-19?
While 52% of the students agreed that COVID-19 impacted their future study abroad plans, around 47.9% were of the view that it hardly changed anything for them.
Well, the reason why some students felt that COVID-19 didn’t impact them could be because they didn’t have plans this or coming year but probably in the further future when the crisis may be over.
- What are your study abroad plans currently when the pandemic is going on? While 43% students are thinking about postponing their study abroad plans with the goal to resume it later, few students, not over 4.7% are planning to cancel their future study plans in the light of the current pandemic. 38.7% are not sure about what to do and 13.4% wish to continue their studies as normal.
- Will you opt for your program if it is offered online? The experience of studying abroad is not just limited to gaining knowledge in the relevant subject, but it is also about experiencing a whole new world in terms of exposure to the culture, language, learning style and country. Having said this, the results were as expected… more than half of the students, 55% to be precise were not interested in an international education course offered online. There were also 44.9% of those who were okay with carrying on their international education online.
